A core component of our childcare centre is the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). Through PYP activities children learn to listen to each other, express their ideas and feelings and increase their vocabulary. Within our themes, we support oral (listening and speaking) and visual (viewing and presenting) aspects of language. Activities and books around the theme help little learners to make connections, apply their learning, and transfer it to new situations.
Imagine, that within the theme “How the world works”, in the morning we read the story about the firefighters, watch pictures of the fire department and discuss the role of emergency services. On the same day in the afternoon, you can see engaged toddlers in the 3+ corner organizing themselves into fire brigade. They apply and explore their knowledge and new vocabulary while being completely absorbed in their play.
In 2020, we were the first Dutch on-campus childcare centre and started the Netherlands’ first PYP preschool groups. We work closely with the International School Delft and our staff train together, to ensure our children make the smooth transition from preschool to ‘big school’ on the road to becoming citizens of the world.
Children love to play and explore the world around them. Our day care encourages young children to make new friends and try new things. True Colors provides a safe and welcoming child-friendly environment under professional supervision. Fun activities stimulate creativity and self-confidence, to help your young child make the most of growing up!
Our child day care has been specifically designed to give young children the tools they need to develop new skills and talents.
We work with your child on their language skills in Dutch and English, early numeracy and social, communication and research skills. Our bilingual approach is based on the one-person-one language principle. Our pedagogical teachers only speak their assigned language with the children. During our daily routine children are “immersed” in Dutch and English.
Careful preparation makes the transition to primary school easier. We use government-accredited programmes to ensure age-appropriate knowledge, skills and language development.
Waiting lists for childcare can be long so, to avoid disappointment, it’s important to register your child as soon as possible.
